Homeownership Assistance (HOA) Program

Overview

The Homeownership program allows families that are assisted under the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) the opportunity to use their voucher to purchase a home. The program is limited to first-time homeowners who have received housing counseling and meet the minimum income requirements.

ELIGIBLE PURCHASERS

  • First-time homeowner
  • Head of household who has been an FSS program participant for at least one year and meets the obligations of their contract of participation
  • At least one or more family members have been employed full-time for a minimum of twelve consecutive months prior to the application (does not apply to a family that includes an elderly or disabled member)
  • Current participant of the Housing Choice Voucher Program
  • Head of household or an adult over 18 years of age who has been in continuous occupancy for a minimum of one year
  • Current with rent, utilities and any other required payments
  • In good standing with lease compliance and lease terms for a continuous period of 12 months immediately preceding the application
