FWHA Receives High Performing Designation from Housing and Urban Development
FORT WAYNE – The Fort Wayne Housing Authority (FWHA) has received the designation of High Performer which is the highest recognition given by the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Public Housing Program.
Each year, all Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) that operate Public Housing Programs undergo a review of essential housing operations. The agencies are scored in the areas of physical, management and financial assessment and capital fund program. PHAs that score a 90% or higher earn High Performer status.
FWHA is no stranger to the High Performer status having scored a 93% in 2015 and its most recent score of 94%. During the 2016 evaluation FWHA received 36 of 40 points in the physical assessment and 23 of 25 points in the management assessment. Perfect scores were received in the areas of financial assessment (25 of 25) and capital fund (10 of 10) respectively.
“We are thrilled to receive this designation from HUD,” stated FWHA CEO and Executive Director, George Guy. “The entire FWHA team is committed to providing a high level of service to ensure we are providing safe, affordable and quality housing for our residents,” he added.
The FWHA serves more than 3,500 low-income families, including over 2,800 families who participate in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) and over 800 individuals and families residing in Public Housing and Tax Credit developments around the city.
