Carolyn Nichter has 31 years of Housing Authority experience with FWHA. She came to FWHA right out of college with a bachelor in accounting from Miami of Ohio University. Also earned master’s in business administration for Saint Frances University in Fort Wayne IN. She directs all financial activities of the Authority, including the maintenance of all books and records in accordance with HUD accounting and auditing regulations along with overseeing the planning, organizing, and execution of all accounting, budgeting, statistical, and property record activities. Carolyn has overseen a GAAP conversion and a transition to Asset management over the years with FWHA. She is a member of NAHRO and AICPA. Carolyn has a husband James and two wonderful daughters. She enjoys traveling, reading, biking and watching and participating in sports actives.
LaShawnda Arrington started with FWHA June 2001 as temp then stayed on until an additional position was added to the accounting department thus starting permanent employment. Her initial position was an accountant primarily working with housing choice voucher staff, tenants, and landlords. In late 2014 a senior accountant position was created and in January 2016 LaShawnda was promoted to senior accountant. Through this journey with Fort Wayne Housing Authority thus far, LaShawnda has acquired Family Self Sufficiency certification, Housing Choice Voucher certifications, and Financial Management certifications as well we multiple fair housing, leadership, and ongoing trainings.
