The Fort Wayne Housing Authority provides safe, decent and sanitary affordable housing. Our team is dedicated to provide quality affordable housing for all. Our mission is to assist in the Investment and Revitalization in the development of communities and the individuals within Fort Wayne.

Mission: To revitalize the city of Fort Wayne by building and developing safe, quality, affordable housing options, while providing programs to foster community, alleviate poverty and encourage long-term economic self-sufficiency.
In 1937, the Indiana General Assembly adopted enabling legislation giving local government authority to participate in federal low-rent housing programs. Subsequently, on the 8th day of February 1938, the Common Council of the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed a resolution creating the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Elizabeth Kayser has worked at the Fort Wayne Housing Authority since 2001. She has worked as a Customer Service Representative, Housing Specialist, HQS Inspector, and Program Analyst. She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN and attended South Side High School, Ivy Tech, and IPFW. Elizabeth enjoys swimming, politics, reading, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends.
