George Guy, CEO/Executive Director of the Fort Wayne Housing Authority, met with Senator Joe Donnelly’s staff assistant Ryan Black in Washington D.C. today, in order to discuss important policies as they relate to affordable housing. 

 

 

They also discussed upcoming opportunities for Public Housing Authorities that will aid in FWHA moving our agency, and the programs we offer, forward.  In explaining these programs and developments, Mr. Guy is able to promote the benefits to the city of Fort Wayne and provide insight into innovative ways to offer affordable housing.

Vision: FWHA cultivates vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods throughout Fort Wayne, where all residents have safe, quality, affordable housing and a high standard of living built on economic self-sufficiency.  

Mission: To revitalize the city of Fort Wayne by building and developing safe, quality, affordable housing options, while providing programs to foster community, alleviate poverty and encourage long-term economic self-sufficiency.

 

In 1937, the Indiana General Assembly adopted enabling legislation giving local government authority to participate in federal low-rent housing programs.
Subsequently, on the 8th day of February 1938, the Common Council of the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed a resolution creating the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Program Analyst

Elizabeth Kayser has worked at the Fort Wayne Housing Authority since 2001. She has worked as a Customer Service Representative, Housing Specialist, HQS Inspector, and Program Analyst. She was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN and attended South Side High School, Ivy Tech, and IPFW. Elizabeth enjoys swimming, politics, reading, traveling, music and spending time with family and friends.
